What's the process for reclaiming bank charges?
- Firstly, if you are considering reclaiming your bank charges and you don't have all your bank statements for the last six years don't worry!
- I'll need a written authority that I will ask you to complete which allows me to act on your behalf for the duration of the claim; and I will take care of the rest. Remember in many cases reclaiming bank and credit card charges can be carried out on already closed accounts.
- I will keep you posted with an email or call every week of the progress your claim is making.
- You will be able to monitor the bank as they attempt to offer you a lesser amount to process your claim quickly. That is when the negotiations start.
- You will be kept aware of all negotiations at all times while reclaiming your bank charges.
- As I have all the paperwork and procedures in place this allows me to offer a very personal service to you the claimant.
- Usually reclaiming your bank charges is quite quick and you will receive the refund within 4-6 weeks.
- Your bank issues a cheque made payable to you for your reclaimed bank charges, and I invoice you for my fee which is £250.
- You can start now by filling in the Letter of Authority and sending, emailing or faxing it to me using the details on the Contact page.
- Act NOW and sort your claim yourself or via a claims company before the OFT (Office of Fair Trading) recommend a limit a bank can charge. There is talk this could be up to £12. If the banks accept they may be likely to only refund the extra. That could be a potential 33% drop in claim value!
